My First Games
I have been playing games ever since I was able to. I was fortunate enough to have my parents buy and constantly update console systems and games collection for my two brothers and I. At one point we had a collection of more than a 100 games ranging across Xbox, PS4, Nintendo. For the earlier years of my life I had a huge interest in reaction based first person shooters such as the COD franchise and casual RPGs such as Pokemon.

Evolution of My Gaming
When was 17, I started delving in to the world of PC games when I got my first personal computer. I immediately started searching for games that I could not experience on a console, specifically MMO. The MMO genre caught my attention for being drastically more social then console games. For the first time in my gaming life I could build connections with people from all over the world who played the same game as I. MMOs were also the first time I experience in depth stories and game mechanics to cater to a large variety of players.

Now you might be wondering how I clock so many hours reasonably. The answer was I didn't. During this period I was drawn into major gaming addiction. Scoring rather well for my O'Levels, I got complacent and felt that I could get away with skipping class and rushing at the last minute for my exams. It ended up in a dark spiral which led me to fail my A'Levels. Enlisting into the army i continued playing MMOs for 2-3 years after till I finally decided to stop.
Coping With My Addiction
I took to mobile games to satisfy my urge to game. While struggling with this addiction, I began to question what was it that makes gaming so compelling to me. Then I realized it was the competition. When I played a game, it had to have competition with other players. Whenever I tried playing single player RPGs, it bored me fast thinking what was the point of playing if all I have achieved can only be seen by myself? No matter what the game was, it had to have some form of competition where I could show my achievements in game with others.

Summary
My love for games does not prejudice against any set genre, as long as there is reasonably fair competition, challenge and an end goal to achieve, I will enjoy it. As of now I have almost completely cut of my gaming habits clocking sometimes less then two hours of games per week solely on mobile games. I now have a huge passion for learning the psychology behind games, how they attract different groups of people, how they make people spend, how they retain their playerbase etc. My end game of my life is to gain the knowledge on how to exploit people fantasies and interest to profit of gaming.
